The scene fades in and we see Jay Swift inside of a promo studio in Bossier, Louisiana. He’s in a very good mood, as he should be considering that he has extended his AWR undefeated streak to nine and oh. Still, despite his success, Swift knows for a fact that his job is far from over and that he’s still got ways to go to get to where he wants to be. He’s expressing his confidence with a “9-0” t-shirt that he drew up prior to this occasion and afterwards, he begins to speak.
Jay Swift: Nine wins, no losses. Needless to say, I have been nothing but successful thus far in AWR and sure, I may not have the championships just yet, but I know for a fact that after beating former number one contender Anthony Royal last week at Feel the Burn, that I am in the driver’s seat for a future shot at the AWR World Championship. Gemini and Kris Destiny, I’ll give them this, had a hell of a battle last week. It’s just too bad that there wasn’t a winner, but I do know for a fact that the two of them are scheduled to meet again at AWR Second City Slaughter on Halloween. Kris Destiny, Gemini, you two better listen to what I’m about to say. I was keeping this on the backburner for a little while considering that I was going to continue to build my case, but after last week, and after running my record up to nine and oh, I am going to straight up come out and say it right here right now. I’m next! That’s right Kris, that’s right Gem, I’m next! You two better watch over your shoulders because I, Jay Swift, am declaring right here, right now, that whoever wins the rematch between you two will be the man that loses that AWR World Championship to me! That’s right folks, as far as the AWR World Championship is concerned, I’m ALL IN!
But first, I’m going to take care of my own business and I will continue to build my case for a shot at the AWR World Championship as I attempt to tie my NIWF undefeated record of 10-0. My opponent this week? It’s a rematch from a while back, against Rusty Axel. It’s been a while Rusty. I almost didn’t see you from way up here considering that I almost forgot about you after I taught you a lesson a few weeks ago. And speaking of, I haven’t forgotten about that cheap ploy you tried to pull after I beat you so if you thought I had forgotten, you sir, are sadly mistaken. You see Rusty, I’ve gone on to bigger and better things since we last met and therefore, I’ve proven without a shadow of a doubt that this business far and away has passed you by. I can hear it now Rusty. You’re going to try and pull your usual shenanigans and nonsense and you’re going to make the boring, trite, unoriginal claim that Roberto Maggia screwed Anthony Royal and that he and I are in cahoots and all that useless nonsense. Right? Is that what you’re going to pull? Or are you going to tell one of those stories about how things used to be in the old days? I’ll give you one thing about your stories Rusty, they’re a real help to my daughter when she needs to go to sleep for the night. That’s about all they’re worth, let me tell you that much.
When I first came to AWR, you tried to pass me off as nobody. You even pretended that you didn’t even have an idea as to who in the world Jay Swift was. You didn’t even think that I was going to last did you? Not only have I lasted in AWR, I’ve THRIVED in it. I think that undefeated record speaks for itself doesn’t it? You on the other hand, have no clue anymore. You’ll get wins here and there, and that’s great that at your age you can still pull out a win every now and then, it’s just unfortunate that you can’t get a win that remotely counts.
You seem to have gone on a crusade against people like me and people like Gemini, who gave you a good beating a while back as well if I recall and yet, the same people that you kept trying to be a thorn in the side of, have not only done well, but have also risen up the ranks. Gemini has since gone on to be Crash champion and he was so close to becoming world champion just last week. In your heyday Rusty, you weren’t even good enough to be a world champion among an alliance of territories and hell, you weren’t even good enough to be the champion of a territory PERIOD! Maybe that’s your grudge against younger wrestlers Rusty. You’re upset at people like me, and people like Gemini, because we’ve done in your generation what you couldn’t do thirty years ago. Is that your deal Rusty? It wouldn’t surprise me. You hold grudges because you weren’t good enough to have enough stroke in the locker room to play the good ol’ game and hold down the younger talent. I know what that was like, I had to put up with that shit when Nick Kelly was playing his game in XHCW and UHWF. You’re just another Nick Kelly, Randall Kash, and so on and so forth, old guys who were once good, but their egos were too big to pass the torch to the young guy.
Ten and oh is just around the corner Rusty, and it’s only fitting that for this occasion, you’re the one that gets struck down, electrified and brutalized by Arizona Lightning, Jay Swift.
