Seems like Jerry Lawler is now stable after what happened last night.
I've not been a great fan of kings commentary in the past few years but now I'm hoping to see him back as soon as possible. Michael Cole should also get a bit of respect at last for his handling of the situation rather than being bashed simply for not being JR.
The Neal Steal character is actually based on kings previous ass kissing style only taken to an even greater extreme and far more heelish. I didn't create Steal (my efed history dates back to 03 and NIWF actually used Steal and Saturn as announcers in 2000) who was a heel announcer initially but I'm definitely the one responsible for turning the character into someone with absolutely zero redeeming values! Infact in recent years I've enjoyed writing for Steal more than my original Silvio character.
So even though I've not been a fan of kings commentary recently I've always been a big Lawler fan.

I don't watch wrestling too much anymore, but I seen this on the news. I've always liked Lawler, hopefully he can make a full recovery.

Watching that unfold last night was scary. The rest of the show after the fact was just eerie without commentary. But say what you want about Cole, but he handled the situation like a champ last night and my hat's off to him. Hopefully King is able to make a speedy recovery.

Apparently he will still need to undergo some surgery (already had one standard procedure to clear a blocked artery) and he's due to have tests on his brain this morning. That's normal when you have been deprived of oxygen for several minutes and some brain damage (even if minor) is a possibility. As far as I know he hasn't spoken yet (due to sedation) but he is responsive to questions in other ways.
According to at least one friend he did complain of chest pains earlier this week but assumed it was just indigestion. I believe he wrestled independents during the week (as he regularly does) and WWE probably had no idea of his chest issues. King has been in great health until last night and had very few injuries for someone who's wrestled so long. No drug issues, smoking and he never drinks alcohol. Of course the likes of Wade Keller are now suddenly talking of age restrictions something I've never heard him mention before (infact he's said WWE have underutilized king in the past)
Quite ironic that two of the most notorious incidents in WWE history have happened in Montreal. Bret Hart was in that arena last night for first time since Survivor Series 97 and remembering what happened to his brother on live tv as well. It was actually King who was first to rush into the ring after he fell. Lots of ironic instances here. Of course Bret's had health scares himself too.
Have to say it was a bit hypocritical of Bret to conduct his interview later when he made such a big deal of WWE continuing the show when his brother died. People were fearing the worst about King as well.

An update on King. Tests done show no signs of brain damage and today King was walking for the first time since Monday. One concern however is that he is having some trouble with his memory, but doctors hope that will cease once sedation wears off complteley. Other than that, and some soreness from CPR being performed, King seems to be in good shape and they are hopeful that he will be able to return home soon.
