Obviously, being a former fed owner in my own right, I feel like if I have any ideas that can help this place, to feel free to let you guys know. But anyway, I've been thinking about some potential things that can help us and I hope that they at least are given a chance.
Among those things:
1) MORE registration for voting links. I see a few at the bottom, but more should be sought after and we should all be as proactive as possible in voting at those links at least once a day. I know social media is all the rave right now, but speaking from experience, the drama that comes with it is a serious pain in the ass and it's not worth it. With the old school approach, you cut out the useless drama and you're most likely to attract old school/newer e-fedders.
2) Better organization. Obviously, you want to look as pro as possible right? As the saying goes, you get out of it what you put into it. Not to step on any toes, but the current roster page is in need of a serious revamping. Finding pic base images and sticking the wrestler's name on it isn't going to cut it. We need to have actual roster images, color coordinated, clean, etc. It's a fresher look and gives a prospective member the impression that the fed is willing to put the work into the basics. I know it's hard because we don't have a GFX person (unless RCH3 can pitch in because I know he's done it in the past), but this can be something we should look to improve.
3) More OOC interaction. I've looked through the OOC boards and most of the topics I see are about the status of the fed, or the status of a late card, or something to that effect. That's not going to help this fed's cause, because it's going to give off the impression that this fed is always in danger of closing or always having problems or something. That impression is going to scare people off. If we post more about stuff such as wrestling, sports, current events, etc., that will change a lot. It'll let people know that we're a united community and we're a chill place to be.
4) More TWITTER interaction. Remember when I said that social media is all the rave? The Twitter section on the forum is genius because it cuts out all the drama of the real website, and because it makes the fed look more hip and up to date with the times. The section is a good start, but I think we should all try to do the best we can to make this section more active.
5) TITLE HISTORIES!!!!! I looked EVERYWHERE on the boards for these, and I couldn't find them at all! Title histories are usually among the first things that a prospective member looks at, because they want to know who's the best of the best, who's on top of their game, and they want to learn more about the prestiges of the championships. The sooner we can get these posted the better.
6) Clarify what the challenge system is about. The challenge system is an old school thing, and very few feds use them anymore. HOWEVER, the challenge system can be used as a recruiting tool to help give this fed a unique presence. Unfortunately, many e-fedders nowadays (particularly newer ones that came in around 2007 [ie myself]) don't really know how it works. If we can explain how the system works better, we can market this better, and people will want to come in.
And lastly,
7) Knowing your audience. This is the best place for old school roleplayers and newcomers to the game. You won't exactly draw any storytelling-savvy roleplayers that write 6000 word roleplays (but let's be honest, most feds nowadays are full of them) and actually, that's not a bad thing. There's still a strong market out in the e-fedding world for people that want to go back to basics, keep things simple, and want to have fun and RP without all the fluff. This fed is more likely to draw promo style roleplayers and rookies, so as a recruiting suggestion, these are the types of writers we should be going for the most. We have vets like Silvio, RCH, Sho and others that can help out any new/inexperienced roleplayers we bring in.
Anyway, that's all I can think of. I hope this helps out as we get this place going again.
