The scene fades in and we see a familiar face that hasn’t been around the familiar NIWF/PWR/AWR scene in nearly six years. He’s gone and traveled the world with other companies, and his success with said companies, plus the fact that he had left the NIWF many years ago under controversial companies rendered the possibility of this man ever returning to his roots nearly impossible. But alas, the day has arrived and so has JAY SWIFT to AWR. He stands in the living room of his home, with a smirk on his face.
Jay Swift: I guess hell has frozen over…
Swift laughs as he remembers a private conversation he had in UHWF with Jackson Steele where he blatantly said that he’d only return to the NIWF when hell froze over.
Jay Swift: Yes, it is I, Jay Swift and I guess you can say that my career has officially come full circle as I’m now a member of the AWR roster and of course, as everyone should know by now, the AWR is essentially the spiritual successor to the NIWF, the company where it all began for me. I remember those days quite fondly. I remember in my NIWF debut, I became the NIWF Provincial Champion and instantly became the face of Friday Night Terror. I remember Marina Valdivia and I raising hell and making our impacts in this business known when we started out in this business together. I remember the first time I ever participated in a faction: when Marina and I teamed up with Tomas Montgomery and Kris Destiny to form the Syndicate and the hell we all raised in the NIWF. We were so dominant that at one point, we held four championships at the same time! Fun times, fun times indeed. I’ll get to Kris Destiny a little later by the way.
Swift pauses and laughs before he continues.
Jay Swift: So, I look around this company and I see familiar faces. I see the aforementioned Kris Destiny, I see the tag team legend known as the Slick Docter, and I even see RCH3 and no offense to the Hatchet Warrior, but DAMN, that guy SUCKED when I was there. Granted, I fully acknowledge that he’s become a far better wrestler in the last six years. Anyway, I know there’s a question on everyone’s mind. Why did I ever leave the NIWF? Better yet, HOW could I ever leave that company? After all, I had everything going for me. I was seen as a potential breakout superstar, “the next legend” in the minds of some other people. I was tearing things up back in the day, being a dominant Provincial Champion and even beating the legendary Julio. So if everything was going so well, why leave? It’s real simple, you all remember Jay C right? By the time I left the NIWF, Marina and I had split and while I didn’t care for her, I witnessed how Jay C and his gang of crooks treated her and screwed her over. Realizing I couldn’t trust the piece of shit, I left and it was a shame. After all, I never planned to leave the NIWF, and hell, I never WANTED to leave. But Jay C’s shady business left me no choice. I have gone on to have the stellar career that many have expected of me. Unfortunately for NIWF, it was for other companies like UHWF and THW. Numbers don’t lie, neither do three world championships and believe me when I say that a fourth isn’t very far behind.
Swift stops to collect himself for a few seconds. Clearly, he’s been through very much in his storied six year career and has gone through many hoops. He remembers THW, how he eventually went on to become to many, the most dominant and decorated man to ever set foot in that company. But THW no longer exists and it’s a brand new chapter for Arizona Lightning.
Jay Swift: Crash TV, my AWR debut and in the grand scheme of things, my return to the old stomping grounds that I started out in. Needless to say, it’s an exciting new beginning for me and it starts off with a man known as Robert Carr. Granted, I hardly know a damn thing about this man, and apparently, he’s nothing to talk about, considering that his accomplishments are next to none and so is any biography on him. Robert, I’m not going to underestimate you. That has never been the way that Jay Swift operates. I’ll tell you this though Rob, of the little I even got to research about you, I happened to find out that you have some form of paranoia. Paranoia? I’m the king of mind games, the last thing anyone needs stepping into the ring with me is paranoia. How in the hell are you going to stay focused when you’re dealing with someone like me? You think being psychotic is going to scare me? Please, back in the day, I beat a supposed psycho (Kerrie Maddox) like the overrated bitch she always was and while she was never a wrestler worth a damn, she was still five times the wrestler you’ll ever be, so dealing with someone like you shouldn’t be very difficult.
You think the fans and the management are out to get you eh? Unfortunately, I’ve dealt with too many of those types and the crazy thing is, with THW, I was dealing with those types who felt that management was really out to get them and hold them down, especially people that I would never expect. You see Carr, people that say that management is out to get them are nothing but losers that make excuses. Jay Swift doesn’t do excuses and that’s another thing that you are going to learn very quickly about me! I highly doubt that management isn’t out to get you at all, I think the real story is that you’re just not good enough to cut it with the big dogs of the company like myself, Anthony Royal and others. If you had proven that you are, you wouldn’t be so paranoid about yourself. You would actually be secure with your abilities instead of running scared behind your excuses. Sure, you can blame your mediocrity on the fact that you get sidetracked and lose focus, but at the end of the day Carr, that’s not my problem, that’s not management’s problem and it’s not the problem of the fans either. Carr, that’s YOUR problem and unless you magically deal with those problems overnight, then don’t expect to defeat me on Crash!
To my fans, it’s great to be back in the ring. To those from back in the day, I’m humbled to be on the same roster with you guys again, well, with most of you guys anyway. To those that want to stand in my way of the world championship, you better realize that this isn’t going to be the AWR of old. This is going to be a different ballgame, and I’m the catalyst of the change that’s about to electrify this company. So on that note Carr, you can make all the excuses you want, but that won’t save you from being struck down, electrified and brutalized by the NEXT AWR World Champion, that’s right Destiny, you heard it here first motherfucker, Arizona Lightning, Jay Swift.
Swift pauses and laughs.
And to the world champion, it won’t be very long before we meet in the ring and I once again become the man. So Kris Destiny…heed my warning…. Enjoy that championship while you can, because you won’t have it for too much longer once I have something to say about it….
Swift smirks, laughs and then turns around and heads outside. With that, the scene fades to black.
