The scene fades in and Jay Swift is standing by a Memphis museum, celebrating the life of the late, great Elvis Presley. he's in an amused mood, clearly he has everything to be calm about considering all that he's been through the last couple of weeks. With that, he begins to cut his promo.
Jay Swift: rusty, Rusty, Rusty, you just don't get it do you?
Swift laughs and then continues.
Jay Swift: You finally vented everything that you had to say about me, and I was really looking forward to what you had to say considering that you've been the type to run your mouth in the past couple of weeks. However, I ultimately ended up disappointed. I was expecting better out of you Rusty, I really was. Perhaps you're another one of those dogs that are all bark, no bite. Who knows? Anyway, let's talk some business shall we. Let's make you out to be the humiliating idiot that you truly are. the learning tree huh? you see Rusty, here's how I see it. When my opponent actually gives me a lesson that I can take forward in my career or my life, whether I win or lose, then I can definitely have respect for that person. But I can never respect anyone that claims that they're going to teach me a lesson because often times, they're incapable of doing so. See, I've learned so much from my opponents over the years, dating back to my NIWF career. I learned a hell of a lot from my encounters with Julio. I learned a hell of a lot from my encounters with the likes of people such as former world champion DeWolf, and even the likes of, despite not being in the NIWF, but in other companies, Nick Kelly, Eddie Stitchard and yes, even our "esteemed" world champion Kris Destiny. I've learned plenty in THW from opponents like recent AWR signee Gemini, my ex-girlfriend Marina Valdivia, and plenty of others. But what are you going to teach me Rusty? How to live in the past? If that's the case, we might as well jump in a time machine and go back to the 50's when Elvis was alive.
I'm not worried about impressing you, I have no reason to. After all Rusty, you're one of those guys that apparently like things from back in the day a hell of a lot better than things from today. You seem to be against change, or any type of evolution that this business will go through in the coming years. When I broke into this business six years ago, I was part of the wave of the future in this business! It was a hell of a time too, because I remember back in the NIWF, the new wave of new superstars contained the likes of me, the likes of Zero McHannon, Marina Valdivia, RCH3 among many others. Even in my other stops at UHWF and THW, there were plenty of new waves and that's how names such as Kris Calloway, Gemini, Lance Harris and others came into the fold as well and my generation has taken over this industry! Our generation is NOW! It's time to catch up "Ol Rusty" because if you don't, you're going to be left behind with other "old timers" such as Nick Kelly, the Franchise Killer and, with all due respect to the man that runs this company, Silvio Megala. you wouldn't want to be left behind would you? Anyway, you can talk about bygones being bygones and that's something I am willing to do, but first Rusty, you must be humbled by me!
I got lucky against Robert Carr? Right, and next thing you know, Silvio Megala and Jackson Steele are going to be best friends overnight. You see Rusty, it's like this. Kris Destiny? He's not at or above my level at all, he's below it. Robert Carr couldn't even beat Kris Destiny and in all likelihood, Kris Destiny is going to dominate him yet again. So tell me Rusty, how is it luck when Robert Carr can't even hack it against someone who's not as good as I am and will never be better than me? The sad thing is, you'll be my toughest match in AWR so far and I don't even know who that speaks more about. After all, one of the FEW things we can agree on is that the Harris brothers are a couple of talentless wrestlers, but don't count on us agreeing to much of anything else, hell, I already found another thing that you said that I am in disagreement with. As far as I'm concerned Rusty, I don't need to clear 'interview time' with you. You probably weren't aware that the company told me to say a few words and announce the name of the next AWR Pay-Per-View, but considering the kind of guy I am, I figured that I would take the time to tell it like it is before I did so because what I had to say about you were things that you NEEDED to hear. You're someone that's so stuck in a time warp that you think the territory days of the 1970's and 1980's are still prevalent in the world of wrestling. That's no disrespect to the history of this business mind you, but I can't respect someone like you that has absolutely no regard for the current generation. I won't speak for Maggia, the guy that signed me, but he seems like a sensible guy, unlike the man that was recently proven to be his father so as far as I'm concerned Rusty, he knew exactly what he was doing when he signed me!
Of course Rusty, I'm not exactly surprised that you're so misinformed about the wrestlers of my generation. you automatically assume that because I'm much younger than you, that I don't even know a damn thing. You label me as one of those 'wrestling schoolers'. Funny, because I never even went to wrestling school. I came into this business through the amateur ranks. That's right, amateur wrestling! I was a natural at it, and I knew from the very first time I won an Arizona state championship at the age of 15, that wrestling was my life's calling. I was a state champion for four straight years before I moved on to college and there, I won four national championships! I already had the pedigree to be a success in this business to begin with! I never even needed a wrestling school! I chose to go pro over being a part of the 2008 Olympic team not only because I knew I accomplished everything I wanted to do in the amateur ranks, but I knew from day one that I had the chops to be a superstar in professional wrestling and six years, three world championships, an Honor Cup and a THW Triple Crown later, I have done just that! And the best part Rusty? At the age of 28, I'm not even close to being done and let me reiterate that it's only a matter of time before I win world championship number four and there's absolutely nothing that you or your territorial pedigree can do about it! And by the way Rusty, since you want to go and say that I wouldn't have survived back in your day, I would have not only survived back in your day, I would have thrived in it because back in that era, wrestlers such as myself were actually considered a unique commodity. Wrestlers of my style and pedigree were fresh and new to the business. I love how you completely forgot about that.
I'm the "boy" right? You can make the argument that when I first broke into this business six years ago, that I was. I was a very cruel, very immature person. I didn't even give a shit about anyone else but myself. Times have changed for me Rusty, I've grown into a man. It took my daughter being born and my wrestling career hitting a pretty steep bump a few years ago to do it, but damn it, I did it. You think I do this just because I want to stroke my own ego don't you? That's funny, because your side of this match is ALL ego! You want to 'teach me a lesson' because the way I wrestle and the way I talk has put a little bruising on it hasn't it? You challenged me to a match because you were so stung by the words I said last week. You don't want this match for any other reason but to stroke your own ego, that's all it is! Humble me huh? That's coming from the guy that's had his own problems with me since the first day I came to AWR!
Let me take a break from Rusty for a little bit, and let me address RCH3. RCH3, you better be watching this because I know for a fact that you have been waiting to face me for a long, long time, and the feeling is mutual. I suggest you watch very closely how I humble Rusty Axel, because you never know what I may have in store for you. As for you Rusty, don't underestimate my technical prowess. I'm not all about the high-flying stuff, and hell, technical wrestling is my number one style to begin with. So come CRASH TV Rusty, get ready because when two technical styles clash, you are going to experience what evolution has done to technical wrestling in a very positive light! You are going to experience the most humbling, and lethal electrocution that you have needed to experience for the longest time and come CRASH, you are going to be STRUCK DOWN, ELECTRIFIED AND BRUTALIZED by Arizona Lightning, Jay Swift!
Swift pauses to laugh for a few seconds.
Jay Swift: Thank you very much Rusty, come tomorrow night, your ego will leave the building!
With that, Swift laughs again and departs from the scene, as it fades to black.
